The Tuia Stage is a 12 hour outdoor cultural showcase of Coromandel performing artists: poets, storytellers, musicians, dancers and kapa haka groups. The central performance will be the premiere performance of a special Tuia 250 composition by Dr Te Ahukamaru Charles Royal (indigenous composer, teacher and cultural leader) performed by the Mercury Bay Choir, joined by Mercury Bay Area School students and accompanied by James Webster and his taonga puoro (traditional Maori instruments) musician friends.

The Raranga Tent situated next to The Tuia Stage will exhibit creations from Coromandel Weavers who will be demonstrating the art of weaving for members of the public of all ages to observe and to try.
