Should We Stay At Alert Level 4? Surprising Results

Written by on April 17, 2020

Through our Facebook page, the Coromandel’s local radio station CFM has run an online survey asking “Should we move from lockdown level 4 to level 3?”

There are lots of things to consider, the economy, personal wellbeing (emotional and physical) and the greater picture for New Zealand as a safe place.

With Level-4 being such a big change in lifestyle for most, it could be assumed that everyone would want things to get back to normal as soon as is possible (and safe)… with that in mind, the results may be surprising… take a look:

The results of our online survey “Should we move from alert level 4 to level 3?”

Sitting at home watching $$$ fall out of my diary and thinking about overheads that still need to be paid is very sickening. Not a very comfortable feeling.
However, sitting at home “sick” with a virus that could kill me, my family or friends would be far worse.
I think the Government is managing this really well and even though I still won’t be able to go back to work until we are Level 2 or less, I’m prepared to sit it out.
Big pain now, to save us from mega pain and death in the long term.

I would like level 4 to lift as it’s not healthy mentally for people to hide in their houses in fear, people need a normal life to excel. Maybe most of these people see this as a holiday. I see this as a nightmare, having a mentally ill person in the household who needs work and structure to be well.

I have 18 year old twins at home plus hubby plus a 23 year old man who’s father went into emergency medical care as he has cancer one off my twins is being a big hand full he has autism and can’t understand what’s going on and really pushes everyone to there limits while in lockdown but I would rather be pushed to the limits and still have everyone in our bubble alive and safe this lockdown has affected everyone everywhere but we should all be great full we are still alive

I would like L4 to stay, countries who have lowered have had big waves of new cases of COVID-19 we need to support our frontline staff and let them breath and recover from the hard work 😓 they’ve been doing. I would like to see the data be sustained at single digits for a period of time to prove we are in control
