Casey Toa / CFM Announcer & Producer
I was born and raised in Ōtorohanga, a small town in the heart of the King Country.
In 2017 I moved to Wellington to study at the New Zealand Radio Training School and had the best year of my life (and was awarded my National Diploma in Radio Broadcasting – also cool).
When it comes to interests I would have to say my biggest is music, live music is my idea of a good time! Other than music a big passion of mine is learning the history of my iwi, Ngāti Maniapoto. In fact, before moving to Whitianga I was the breakfast host for a local iwi radio station, MFM Te Reo o Te Iwi, which helped me gain further knowledge and understanding of who I am and where I’m from.
Why do I love it here? My family has had a caravan over the hill at Oamaru Bay for as long as I can remember, so I’ve always classed The Coromandel as my second home! From the beautiful beaches to the people – there’s not much to fault! I’m ready for a new challenge and a new adventure, and I think CFM is a perfect fit.
