BREAKING NEWS – UNCONFIRMED REPORT OF POSITIVE COVID CASE IN THAMES

We have heard of a positive Covid case in Thames this morning. This has not yet been confirmed and we are waiting Ministry of Health and Waikato DHB to confirm details.
We have no other information other than it involves a family who are based in the Thames area. For weeks we have been hearing of Covid coming to the Coromandel and from information now at hand it would appear that it has landed on the Peninsula.
The Ministry of Health will usually wait to confirm details at the 1pm release and we will update this as soon as we hear.
Vaccination rates for Thames Coromandel are well below the New Zealand and Waikato numbers with only 75.7% fully vaccinated compared to Waikato with 79.1% and New Zealand at 81.8%. More on this with details on a breakdown by area soon.

Wonder why Thames has not been mentioned in any broadcasts from M.of H. and NO locations of interest in Thames have been posted on their website…just asking??
