Black Rock Enduro

On Saturday the 5th of April 2025, Whangamata Mountain Bike Club will host its premier Enduro event of the year, the Black Rock Enduro at the Whangamata Mountain Bike Park situated just four kilometres north of the town.

From the mountains to the sea, competitors will race against themselves and the clock completing either four or six timed downhill descents called ‘Stages’.  A competitor’s time is recorded using a timing device attached to the rider’s mountain bike. The stages are held on well known mountain bike trails within the Whangamata Mountain Bike Park. This year, competitors will be treated to a number of new trails specifically for this race. Competitors will start the race in groups or waves from our HQ Event Base and finish their race at the same location. They will have a set time, usually several hours, to navigate their way around the Park and complete all the stages. The times for each stage are collated at the completion of the race and the person with the lowest time for each stage will be crowned the overall winner. At the conclusion of the race a prizegiving will be conducted at the HQ Event Base.
