Public Meeting To Discuss Cathedral Cove Walking Track Charging
Written by John Freer on June 8, 2026
Being charged a fee to walk the Cathedral Cove track is the subject of a public meeting at Hahei on Wednesday afternoon.
The Department of Conservation is looking for feedback and is hosting the meeting at the local Hahei Hall.
DOC’s Manager of Budget and Funding Policy, James Johnson, told CFM public input was being called during the next two months and depending on policy, charging could start this coming summer.
While gaining input on the charging, how the funds raised are to be used is also on the agenda.
