Welcome to the Pāuanui Trail Epic — where the coast meets the climb.
Set in the picturesque beach town of Pāuanui on the Coromandel Peninsula, this is a trail running experience designed for every level of runner. With four race distances on offer — from a flat and fast 5km right up to a demanding 34km epic — each course showcases the natural beauty and variety of the region.
Winding its way through every race distance is the fast and flowing Tairua River Trail — a local gem that weaves beside the Tairua River through lush native bush and open flats. It’s the perfect introduction to the terrain, whether you’re here for a relaxed outing or setting your sights on a podium finish.
From the sparkling shoreline of Pāuanui Beach to forested hills and technical ridgelines, the Pāuanui Trail Epic delivers a little bit of everything — topped off with epic views, great vibes, and that unmistakable trail running camaraderie.
