TARP Assists DOC With Weather Impacts

Facing what are being described as unique situations, the Department of Conservation is now implementing Trigger Action Response Plans when dealing with the impact of storm events on key Coromandel Peninsula visitor locations.

The region’s Operations Manager, Nick Kelly, has outlined to CFM the steps taken to restrict access to the likes of Cathedral Cove.

Nick said the nature of the situations now being faced when assessing whether or not tracks are available are new.
