Historic Kopu Bridge Soltice Sunset
|Date:||Friday February 26, 2021|
If you love sunsets, don’t miss the first ever Historic Kōpū Bridge Sunset Alignment on Friday 26th February.
Many ancient structures, such as England’s Stonehenge, were built to capture the sun’s rays during the summer solstice – the longest day. Here in Thames Kōpū, the setting sun’s rays will shine directly down the Historic Kōpū Bridge’s 463 metres on Friday 26th February. Sunset is at 8.01pm.
Bring your camera! Bring your picnic! Join us for a brilliant, once-a-year photoshoot. The bridge is wheelchair accessible.
This is a free event, but a koha/donation is always welcome. Gates will be open during the day from 7am and will remain open, weather permitting, until 8.30pm.
