WILD WOMEN”S WEEKEND
Sensational walk alongside the Wentworth River, with two bridged crossings, before climbing to a good view of the falls. The falls are in two drops of about 20 metres each. From here, a steeper tramping track leads to a basin at the top of the falls. Meet at The Falls Track. Wentworth Valley Road, first past the golf course 9am sharp for a 6 km return 2.5 hours.
We donate money for this from Kauri Dieback- It’s a a really interesting walk- old gold mine territory. It’s hard to imagine this area was once a large gold mining settlement employing up to 300 people. Thousands of ounces of gold were taken from here and to this day the area is under threat with gold mining companies still keen to prospect.
