Back-to-back years and Cathedral Cove remains in the world’s top 50 beaches.
Information out today confirms the 45th ranked location from the global poll of more than 1000 travel professionals.
One of the people behind the survey is Tino Holst, of worlds50beaches.com, who told us the unspoiled natural surroundings at Cathedral Cove capture exactly what the list is about.
“This is celebrating beaches where nature still feels pure and untouched.
“Despite its growing popularity, Cathedral Cove retains its pristine beauty, and it stands as a great reminder of why protecting these places is so important,” said Tino.
The announcement was great news for Destination Hauraki Coromandel whose role it is to attract visitors.
Marketing Manager, Megan Nunn, said the accolade would be used to support marketing activity both across local and international markets.
She described the announcement as an honour in having such an icon in the region.
Another who has realised the benefits is the Chairman of the Mercury Bay Business Association, Paul Clayton.
