Mayor Aiming For Second Term After Steep Learning Curve

Seeking to be returned as Thames Coromandel District Mayor in Octobers local government elections, Len Salt is returning to an issue which was high on the campaign three years ago.

There is no denying there is an element of Deja vu with community empowerment being on his agenda.

As a second term mayor, he said new structures will be implemented supporting community boards and local ratepayers associations.

Len has also discussed the learning curve of being a new mayor and meeting the challenges thrown up by Cyclone Gabrielle.

He did not deny running with other council candidates in a team structure, he also discussed his relationship with the Council chief executive saying the matter was being worked through.
