New Emergency Controller At The Helm

As holidaymakers began moving into the Coromandel Peninsula and taking advantage of the two days before Christmas, those behind ensuring a Safer Coromandel were applying the final touches to plans.
Much of this being the responsibility of Brian Carter, recently appointed as the districts civil defence and emergency management controller.
Brian comes into the role after a period as the assistant to the now retired Garry Towler, who successfully steered the region through the likes of Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle.
Brian has worked with Thames Coromandel District Council in the building compliance area before changing his focus to emergency management.
