Plea for Help From Desperate Thames Board Chairman
Written by John Freer on December 2, 2025
The matter of increasing crime being driven by drug use has the Thames Community Board chairman being so desperate – that he is writing to anyone who is willing to listen and maybe offer a solution to his intolerable situation.
Adrian Catran quotes instances of threats to families in a park, street arguments, begging along with ambulance drivers and paramedics being abused while on the job.

I moved here a year ago and am going to sell up & leave! Have been followed by a car up the street, car crawling along beside me (asking for money) He wouldn’t go! Been hassled at the park asked if i want dope or P?? Had 2 guys at the gate of my house asking for petrol or petrol money and the final nail in this coffin, had a FREAKING home invasion where a man broke in while I was sleeping (wrenched off padlocks) and tried to get in my bedroom! I have no solution as yes this is an intolerable situation. it may only be a small number of people ruining this wee town BUT they have ruined it for me 🙁

police won’t do anything about the crackheads stealing, fighting or even illegally camping behind the warehouse because it’s to difficult rather drive around issuing tickets to motorists and to be fair I wouldn’t want to be dealing with all the scum around the town either
