Positive Signs for Business Ahead

There are signs of quiet confidence for the region’s business community moving into 2025, this an opinion shared by three of the regions business leaders.

Chairman of the Mercury Bay Business Association, Paul Clayton, his counterpart in Whangamata, Patrick Kerr, and a spokesperson for the Coromandel Colville Business Association, Jeni Ashman, all saying strong holiday trading provided a good start to 2025.

In Whitianga, Paul said the improving signs began at Labour Weekend which was a turning point seeing an increase with trading volumes.

Jeni said people were fed up with bad news and they wanted to have a good holiday. She said forward bookings were also good.
