Public Urged To Help Stem Drug Problem
Written by John Freer on September 2, 2025
A plea from the chairman of the Thames Community Board, Adrian Catran, for residents to help in curbing the Thames drug and crime problem.
The matter of crime and drug use in Thames was raised at the weekend at a meet the candidate’s event for the coming council elections.
Adrian confirmed yesterday that wastewater tests revealed high levels of methamphetamine and traces of cocaine.
He called on the public to assist police by reporting any suspicious activity so they could build intelligence.

thanks to our community board and it’s amazing chair for all their work maintaining a 24 hr Police presence in Thames. They really have their fingers on the pulse of the community. And why is he on the radio talking about it now? because there’s an election coming up and all publicity is good publicity

All waste water plants test for drugs … but they’ll only be coming from a few houses … these things start communities blaming people when they’ve never taken meth in their lives.
