Two candidates are contesting Thames Coromandel’s seat at the Waikato Regional Council table.
Tairua’s Warren Maher currently has the position after winning the right three years ago, up against him is Thames Coast resident Jason Roxburgh.
The pair have already spoken at a number of meet the candidate events, CFM has interviewed both touching on what are seen as the critical issues facing our district which form the basis of regional council works.
Open the links below to hear from each of the candidates.

How about Jason explains how he is going to control environmental activists paid by the WRC who have as adversely affected private property. Additionally what’s he going to do about the institution bias WRC funding Forest Bird conservation action at the cost of hunter based groups.
in short how us he going to serve the wider community, not just his forest and bird costituancy.

It’s not helpful or inspiring to attack a candidate you disagree with as if the other candidate did not have a any bias or clearly defined constituency and although on WRC , it could be said, has little experience or interest in the environment issues WRC are meant to actively protect – there is a clear choice and the question is not a faux neutrality but what is the job of the WRC – protect the environment including water, soils, all natural resources and manage them for future generations – or not !
