Heavy rain for parts of central and northern New Zealand
A large low is forecast to remain slow-moving over the Tasman Sea while associated fronts move slowly eastwards across central and northern New Zealand through to overnight Saturday. This weather system is expected to bring periods of heavy northerly rain to many places.
People are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecasts in case any changes are made to the Watches or Warnings, or further areas are added.

Area: Auckland about and north of Orewa, Great Barrier Island, Coromandel Peninsula
Valid: 18 hours from 3:00 am to 9:00 pm Saturday
Forecast: Periods of heavy rain. Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria.
Area: Northern parts of Taranaki excluding the mountain
Valid: 7 hours from 8:00 pm Friday to 3:00 am Saturday
