Workshop: 

Age Concern Hauraki Coromandel invites those living with Parkinson’s, their carers, health professionals, and anyone working with older adults to a free workshop led by Dr. Francine Hills a dance practitioner and advocate for health and well-being through movement. This workshop highlights the benefits of creative dance for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, combining evidence-based exercises with artistic expression to improve balance, confidence, and quality of life. 

Agenda: 

  • 9:30 AM – Dance for Parkinson’s Demonstration: A practical demonstration of a dance program designed to address Parkinson’s-specific symptoms through movement, music, and creativity. 

   

  • 10:30 AM – Creative Dance for Parkinson’s Workshop: An interactive session offering practical tools and techniques for integrating movement into everyday life. Topics include using props, music selection, and structuring sessions for diverse groups.
