Finding Heidi

The man behind the podcast Finding Heidi, says the discovery of human remains at Mataora Beach on the south-eastern Coromandel Peninsula, warrants a further search.
Ryan Wolf has revealed that a credible report late last year did prompt a response from police. Now though he wants the matter further investigated as he continues to push to find the final piece in the puzzle surrounding the murders of the two Swedish tourists in 1989.
Heidi Paakkonen and Urban Hoglin went missing during a party on the outskirts of Whangamata, Hoglin’s body was located in the Parakiwai Valley in 1992. Paakkonen’s remains have never been found this being the missing link in the puzzle.
Wolf confirmed to CFM today that a person had approached him after finding human remains in the sand dunes at Mataora – a beach located midway between Whangamata and Waihi. The man’s credibility prompted police to make a search – Wolf now wants that extended.
David Tamahere was convicted for the murders, Wolf believes there were others involved.

The Police at the time charged Tamahere with the theft of Hoglins watch, yet when Hoglins body was found yrs ago his watch was still on his arm. Makes you wonder whether mistakes were made then.
