Tourism promotion coffers have received another $200,000 of Government funding – this announced today by the deputy prime minister.
Responsible for Thames Coromandel Cyclone Recovery, Hon Carmel Sepuloni, was visiting Thames.
The funding will be administered through Thames Coromandel District Council and be used by Destination Hauraki Coromandel.
General Manager of Destination Hauraki Coromandel, Hadley Dryden, said the funds would be used to promote the coming summer for potential tourists and holidaymakers to the Coromandel Peninsula.
He said campaigns would target areas such as the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Auckland.
Hadley said he was looking forward to discussing opportunities with council along with local business associations and businesses.
