Fuel Price Relief for Thames Motorists

Written by on April 17, 2025

There finally appears to be some relief for Thames motorists in regard to fuel prices with Allied opening in Queen Street.

The company has taken over what was formerly a Mobil outlet and has opened with fuel prices 20 cents a litre cheaper than some other operators.

This week Allied had 91 at $2.60 a litre with Gull Thames at $2.81 and BP Thames $2.75.

Local campaigners for reduced fuel costs, who joined CFM last year to challenge what was considered unfair pricing, have welcomed the move by Allied.

Goldie Anderson and Brendan Walsh said they hoped the Allied pricing strategy would continue.

Goldie said it was pleasing to see such things happen when a community stands together on an issue.

She said now families in Thames doing it tough, had a cheaper fuel option in their own town.
