Residents React to Whangamata Survey
Written by John Freer on August 31, 2023
An attempt to get the pulse of its town and use the information to meet the needs of residents, has struck a cord with Whangamata residents.
The local ratepayer’s association has launched a survey of both residents and ratepayers and within a week, have received over 400 responses.
Whangamata Ratepayers Association spokesperson, Amanda Stevenson, said there was a need to discover what was important to their members and residents. She said the association wanted to understand where rate monies should be spent.
Once the survey closes at the end of September, the information will be analysed, the findings being made available back to the community and council.
Senior Whangamata area school students have become involved in the project developing the on-line survey while they will also assist with the data analysis. Listen to the interview below for more information and how to undertake the survey.
