Submissions close 5PM Today 3 March For Proposed Changes to Hauraki Gulf and Coromandel Fishing
Written by John Grant on March 3, 2023
You only have till 5pm today to complete a submission on the proposed Hauraki Gulf Fisheries Plan from Fisheries New Zealand that if it proceeds as planned will allow bottom trawling and scallop dredging, fishing methods that The Hauraki Gulf Alliance say are destructive to our precious seafloor habitats.
The inclusion of these fishing methods have taken many by complete surprise and Legasea referred to it as insulting to them and everybody who cares about the future of the Gulf and Coromandel fisheries.
There is still time to have your say. You can go here to make a submission but you must do it before 5pm today.
