Tracking lost people in the Coromandel

Rex’s friend recently came across a very upset and lost gentleman who had come into Thames and couldn’t work out how to get home. This is more common than you might think.

Alison Choppin from Search and Rescue said that people going missing in a town are really difficult to find, and it takes a lot of man hours. There are pendants available to help people that are prone to going missing.

“Our track record on finding people that are wearing them [tracking pendants], stands at 10 minutes. 10 minutes compared to hundreds of hours,” said Alison.
