SH25 BETWEEN KERETA & WAIKAWAU BOAT RAMPS CLOSED FRIDAY MORNING

NZTA have advised that State Highway 25 south of Coromandel will be closed this Friday (17 September) from 9am to midday for the removal of an abandoned car.
The car has been left on the beach and needs to be removed urgently to prevent any environmental damage to the beach, sea and surrounds. The highway at that point is very narrow, with no room for traffic to pass while the recovery vehicles are working leaving no option but to close the road to traffic while the recovery is undertaken.
The highway will be closed between the Kereta Bay boat ramp (24km south of Coromandel) and Waikawau boat ramp (29km south of Coromandel).
In the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the recovery will take place on Monday 20 September.
