Acceptance of the regional biking strategy across both the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki districts, will now enable a pathway to developing tracks and opportunities.

This from Laurna White the Thames Coromandel District Council’s Group Manager Community Outcomes.

During the past 12 months a number of organisations, clubs and community groups have had input into the strategy, which both Thames Coromandel and Hauraki District Councils have adopted.

Laurna said the strategy ensured the opportunity for on-going conversations with stakeholders, including those behind projects such as the Pauanui-Tairua Trail, the Whangamata Bike Park and the proposed Kauaeranga Trail.

She said the councils long term planning process was an opportunity to develop the detail within the strategy.
