New Housing Development a Long Overdue Lifeline for Thames

New residential development land is critical for the future development of Thames. Over recent years the housing and land shortage has made it difficult for both business operators and staff to find accommodation.

For some 30 years there has been discussion around Totara Valley, south of Thames, and potentially up to 500 sections being opened for housing.

The local council has recently appointed a project manager, he drove the Kopu Marine Development now his attention turns residential sub-divisions.

Lorenzo Canal is the new project lead, he joins us with the Thames Coromandel District Council acting group manager infrastructure, Mo Imtiaz.

They update us on the Totara Valley development, saying council is committed and will be open on the project – hear the interview below.

    That will be a great thing for Thames but put a roundabout at the intersection of Totara valley road to keep the traffic flowing .
