Urgent Power Outage Notification for Coromandel and Hauraki Districts

We have been advised by Transpower of an urgent planned power outage scheduled for tonight, Monday, 7 July 2025, at 11:30 PM.

The outage is necessary to fix a fault at the Kopu substation and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

This outage will impact a wide area of the Coromandel and Hauraki districts, except for Whangamata, Whiritoa, and Waihi.

For more details on the affected areas, please refer to the photo supplied by Transpower. The impacted area is shown in light pink, labelled “Kopu,” above the white line on the map. The darker pink area, labelled “Waikino,” is not affected.

To minimise disruption, Transpower has scheduled the outage for late this evening. Please share this information with others in the community to ensure everyone is prepared.
