Rescue Services Called to Aldermens

Rescue services including Coastguard and the Wespac Rescue Helicopter were called to the Aldermen Islands yesterday where a male in his 70’s had suffered a serious accident onboard a boat.
The call came in to the rescue centre at about 1:55pm with a report that a man had suffered an accident and needed urgent medical assistance.
Coastguard responded and the rescue helicopter was called from its base at Ardmore. With assistance from Coastguard, the patient was winched on to the helicopter and flown to Middlemore hospital in a moderate condition.
