What a Year for the Judd-a-naut – Thames Rugby Star Has Great Year

Written by on October 25, 2022

Rugby halfback Richard Judd has long declared his desire to return to Thames and give back to the club and people who helped launch his career.

But after the weekend, Juddy as he is known to his team mates, might just put that return on hold.

On Saturday as a member of the Wellington Lions, Judd locked up his third major rugby trophy for the year when Wellington won the national provincial championship.

Last month he was with the Wellington Lions when his team lifted the Ranfurly Shield off Hawke’s Bay.

And prior to that when back home after being an injury replacement for the Hurricanes, Judd was with a number of his old clubmates when Thames Rugby and Sports won the McClinchy Cup being Thames Valley champions for the first time since 2012.
