Family Plea For Others to Search for Missing Jordan

Family members of 29-year-old, Jordan van Deursen of Waihi – who has been missing in the Wentworth Valley area for 10 days, are encouraging those walking or using the area to join the search.

Jordan’s uncle, Mario Kerkhof, spoke to CFM today, asking people who are in the area, such as hunters, to keep a watch for Jordan or his dog. Mario said the family were still hopeful of Jordan returning home.

Described by his uncle as a loving young man who cared for others, Jordan was used to undertaking bush walks but had no experience in overnight or multi-day tramping.

A large team of specialist search and rescue staff have been working with Police, while drones and a helicopter are being used.
