Facing competition for the role this time round, Hauraki District Mayor Toby Adams is advocating many things, two stand outs being the need for experience at council tables and that the day to day stuff matters.

Up against him is Levi Burton who also goes as Levi Phoenix, and Roman Jackson.

CFM spoke to Mayor Adams this week as he prepares to keep the job saying that it was good to have people opposing him, because he then knew he had the community mandate to undertake the role.

He made the point that council’s have a major impact on the everyday lives of their residents and ratepayers.
