The playing of the last post will be heard across the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki district this week as ANZAC Day is recognised.

Parades and services are planned involving many communities – the flavour of which recognise the formality of the Thames Dawn service and a connection with Sir Keith Park, to coastal Whangamata’s beach service.

Both Thames RSA President, Ken Last-Harris, and Whangamata President, Geoff March, yesterday told CFM how encouraging it was to see the large numbers of people, both supporting parades and also taking part.

CFM asked both men about ANZAC Day in their particular town or community.

Details of the Parades across the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki districts can be found on council websites and at cfm.co.nz.
