Minister Wants Action On Cathedral Cove Solution

A champion may have been found for those wanting to get the Cathedral Cove reopened in the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, the Hon Matt Doocey.

He visited the site today, afterward being strong in his response to a question from CFM on where the closure of land access sat in terms of his portfolio. He said work to get the area again open from the land was clearly not working.

He also questioned how higher a priority the project was for people in Wellington.

In an extensive interview with CFM the Minister touched on focus points to further develop international tourism, the requirements of smaller regions to maximise the tourism product to achieve business and employment growth, information centres and regional tourism organisations.
