Police can confirm one person has died following a motorbike crash in the Coromandel last night. Emergency services were alerted to a motorbike that left Tapu Coroglen Road, Tapu, at around 9pm. The rider was located deceased at the scene. Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.

There’s been 28mm of rain fall in Whitianga, 21.3mm in Tairua and around 16mm on Whangamata. The western side of the Peninsula has seen less rain with 21mm in Coromandel Town and 7mm in Thames.
